What is the Australian Council for New Urbanism (ACNU)?The ACNU represents an alliance of Australian and New Zealand practitioners, who are working together to improve the quality and sustainability of our urbanism. Australian New Urbanism is a growing and evolving practice, with strong values and on a steep learning curve. Its basic aim to improve the urban sustainability, vitality and quality of life for existing Australian towns and cities, as well as for new urban extensions. Primary tools include design, regulation, development and education, at all scales from buildings to regions. ACNU USA Tour, 2012Join your colleagues on an 8-day bus tour to see the highlights of built New Urbanism across the south-east of the USA! Tentatively scheduled for May 2012, either before or just after the CNU 20 Congress at West Palm Beach, Florida. For further information click here, or register your interest at info@acnu.org ACNU Master Class - Perth Light Rail TODACNU ran an intensive three day Masterclass in September 2011. The Masterclass was led by internationally acclaimed urban designers and design facilitators, including Stef Polyzoides from Moule Polyzoides and Wendy Morris of ESD, and supported by a number of tutors drawn from Australia.
